Filing of Nomination papers for General Election to House of People and Sikkim Legislative Assembly- 2019
For Filing of Nomination papers from 18th March the notified time shall be from 11AM to 3 PM only in working days. No nomination will be accepted except during this notified time. As per the ECI rules 21st March(Holi), 23rd March(fourth Saturday) and 24th March (sunday) are public holidays and non nomination days. Each person can file a maximum of 4 sets of nomination papers. Only one original set of necessary documents are required to be submitted by each person filing nomination. If any document is incomplete time will be provided to the candidate till last date of nomination to submit them. For Filing nomination papers to both PC & any of assembly constituencies the person needs to be an Indian citizen, 25 years of age and should not be disqualified to be elected. A separate election account needs to be opened by candidate atleast one day prior to filing of nominations and details to be given. For reserved seats the relevant caste certificate needs to be given with nomination.
Nomination will be taken in respective Chambers of the two notified Returning officers as follows- AC no. 17 to 22- ADM/EAST. PC & AC no. 23 to 28, AC 32(SANGHA)- DM EAST.
