ELECTION CELL
WELCOME TO DISTRICT ELECTION OFFICE, EAST DISTRICT
The District Election Officer functions under the superintendence, direction and control of the Chief Electoral Officers delineated in the Representation of the People Acts, 1950 & 1951 and shall coordinate and supervise all work in the district or in the area within his jurisdiction in connection with the preparation and revision of the electoral rolls for all parliamentary, assembly and council constituencies within the district. . He also overseas conduct of elections to the House of the People and the State Legislative Assembly and facilitates elections to the Office of the President & the Vice President of India as per the provisions of the relevant Acts. District Election Officer East district is supported by the Election Cell headed by Under Secretary along with other staff. The administrative machinery includes ERO, AERO, SO and BLO.
